Can we write our own vows?

Absolutely. I love helping couples write vows—or you can use traditional vows if you prefer.

Do you officiate LGBTQ+ weddings?

Can our ceremony be religious, nonreligious, or somewhere in between?

Absolutely. Your ceremony should reflect your beliefs and values, whether spiritual, secular, interfaith, or completely customized.

How long is a ceremony?

Most ceremonies are 15–30 minutes, but I'll tailor it to your preferences. It can be as long or short as you wish and will match your needs and wishes.

What if my wedding is canceled or needs to be rescheduled?

I sincerely hope your wedding day goes exactly as planned—but I also understand that life can be unpredictable.

If your wedding is canceled within three months of your scheduled ceremony date, payments made are non-refundable. By that point, I've reserved your date, declined other bookings, and begun creating your personalized ceremony.

If you need to reschedule your wedding, I'm happy to transfer all payments to your new date, provided I'm available. As long as your ceremony details remain substantially the same, there are no additional fees for changing the date.

My goal is to make the process as stress-free as possible, and I'll always do my best to work with you if plans change.

Can you help us with the marriage license application process?

Absolutely! While I can't complete the application or obtain the marriage license on your behalf, I'm happy to help guide you through the process. After your ceremony, I will complete all officiant portions of the paperwork and file the completed marriage license with the appropriate office as required by your state's regulations. This service is included in all of my ceremony packages. If your marriage license application requires my officiant information, including my mailing address, simply let me know once you've booked your ceremony and I'll provide everything you need for your application. 

I can:

• Answer questions about the marriage license process

• Help you determine which municipality, city, or county you should apply in

• Point you to the appropriate clerk's office and application information

• Explain what to expect before and after your ceremony

However, I cannot:

• Apply for your marriage license

• Serve as the witness for your marriage license application

• Pick up your marriage license for you

What happens if we forget to bring our marriage license?

It happens more often than you might think! Unfortunately, I cannot legally perform your marriage without your marriage license.

To avoid any last-minute stress, I recommend assigning a trusted family member, friend, or member of your wedding party to be responsible for bringing the license to the ceremony.

If the license is forgotten and no one is able to retrieve it before the ceremony, we'll need to schedule another time to complete the legal paperwork. A return appointment is subject to the following fees:

• $150 for appointments within 20 minute of Clifton, NJ

• $200 plus for locations outside Clifton, NJ

If there is a significant delay while someone retrieves the license on your wedding day, additional fees may apply.

A quick tip: Before you leave for your venue, make sure someone asks, "Who has the marriage license?" It's one of the most important things you'll bring that day!

Should we have a sound system for our ceremony?

In most cases—yes! If you're expecting more than about 30–40 guests or your ceremony is outdoors, I highly recommend using a sound system so everyone can clearly hear your vows and ceremony.

If you're working with a DJ or live band, ask whether they can provide:

• A wireless microphone

• A microphone stand

• Sound for the ceremony

Because I'll be holding your ceremony script (and often your rings during the exchange), I generally don't hold a handheld microphone throughout the ceremony.

If your DJ or musician isn't able to provide a microphone stand, I can bring one—just let me know ahead of time.

Need a backup? I also have a small portable speaker and microphone that I'm happy to bring at no additional charge with advance notice. It's perfect for smaller ceremonies or when a full sound system isn't available.

Please note that this speaker is intended for the ceremony only and is not designed for music or the reception.

What will you wear to our wedding?

My goal is to dress professionally while complementing the style and formality of your wedding.

For most ceremonies, I wear an elegant dress. If the weather is cold or the ceremony requires walking on uneven terrain—such as a beach, park, hiking trail, or wooded location—I may wear black dress pants with a dressy blouse instead.

I typically avoid wearing all black unless that matches the style you're envisioning. If there's a specific color you'd prefer I avoid because of your wedding palette, just let me know—I'm happy to accommodate whenever possible.

Comfortable shoes are a must (you won't usually find me in heels!), especially for outdoor ceremonies. Rest assured, I'll always arrive looking polished, professional, and ready to celebrate your special day.
